Mother's name
[edit]Seeing his mother referred to as "Moller" Klengenberg felt somewhat odd, given that Danish has no such given name, while "Møller" is a common surname, so I looked his record up in the Danish National Archives' database of digitized Danish church registries (www.arkivalieronline.dk, a standard tool for Danish genealogists): he was born on 21 December 1869 and baptised into the Church of Denmark (i.e. as a Lutheran). His parents' names are listed as: Jørgen Jørgensen (father) and Caroline Sofie Møller (mother). Source: Church registry of St. Nicholas Parish, Svendborg (full Danish source: www.arkivalieronline.dk, kirkebøger, Svendborg, Sct Nicolai, Sunds Herred, Svendborg Amt, 1862-1875, opslag 26, nr. 22). Interestingly, the priest spelled the boy's name "Christian Klingenberg Jørgensen". Valentinian T / C 03:59, 11 December 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks. I've passed that on to his descendents. Enter CambridgeBayWeather, waits for audience applause, not a sausage 05:07, 11 December 2009 (UTC)
- Is there any reason why the mother's name shouldn't be changed in the article to "Caroline Sofie Møller", with the Danish source listed above as the reference? --Rosiestep (talk) 14:12, 11 December 2009 (UTC)
- Probably be a good idea. Enter CambridgeBayWeather, waits for audience applause, not a sausage 17:21, 11 December 2009 (UTC)
