Did Evert write this article herself? Or just get her biggest fan in the world to do it for her? It's a ludicrous article and should not be permitted under wikipedia's editorial guidelines, at least not using the ridiculous hyberbole and flowery language that it contains. Either it should be rewritten from a neutral perspective or deleted altogether. 93.35.84.103 (talk) 17:40, 12 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Well, since it's been established here for 8 years and been edited by a couple dozen people (including administrators), a "proposed deletion" is right out. The article isn't ludicrous when you are talking about about one of the greatest players ever. Could it have less flowery language, absolutely. And we frown upon scoring in prose also. Those are certainly weasel, POV, and copyedit tasks... but not even close to a deletion solution. Fyunck(click) (talk) 23:09, 12 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Great. Then add your commentary to the deletion box and the reasons for keeping the article. Do not simply delete the valid request. If you can show the corresponding articles for all the other players that are deemed “one of the greatest players ever” your case will be stronger. Perhaps in the meantime you could support your claim for the article to remain by undertaking the necessary rewrites to make it a proper Wikipedia article and not just a fan adoration page. 93.35.84.103 (talk) 07:52, 13 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
A prod can be removed by anyone, and once removed should not be brought back. You can fully nominate the article for deletion, but then it has to go through any editors and you'll have to convince a majority that the article has no merit. You can also do the same and rewrite it. It's not up to me to do so... it's a team effort. Fyunck(click) (talk) 07:57, 13 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Proposal to merge article into Chris Evert's main page
No other tennis player has an equivalent page. For the sake of consistency, I propose to delete it and transfer its contents to Chris Evert's main page. If an administrator agreed with my proposal, I would be happy to do the transfer with all the necessary editing (I have already re-written this entire page to get rid of all the unprofessional and hyperbolic language.)
