Showrunner
[edit]I had to look this term up, since it's not often used in the UK. The equivalent term would be Executive producer, which is used in the Doctor Who article (and more importantly by the BBC, so I propose changing it. Any thoughts? This is Paul (talk) 20:55, 16 July 2017 (UTC)
- Looks like the proposed change has already been made, but as counter-evidence of the term being known and used in the UK, I'd cite:
- * If I Google for "moffat showrunner", the first page of results shows me 4 different UK newspapers using the term [1] [2] [3] [4], plus three uses by Radio Times [5] [6] [7], plus Moffat's Wikipedia page, where it appears in the first paragraph (alongside the terms "writer" and "executive producer"). This would imply to me the term is known and understood to a fair degree in the UK, and is reasonable for Wikipedia pages to use in a UK context?
- * The Showrunner Wikipedia page has a specific section for UK uses of term, giving multiple examples going back a few years, including RTD, the predecessor of Moffat and Chibnall in this role for Doctor Who.

This page needs to be rectified immediately. However due to the level of corruption of certain moderators that have repeatedly reverted the changes of Chris Chibnall's page to ammend the false information, there has been no resolution on the matter. The matter of resolution to be amended is the statement made: "best known as the creator and writer of the award-winning ITV mystery-crime drama Broadchurch and the current show-runner of the long-running BBC sci-fi series Doctor Who." This statement assumes that Chris Chibnall is the 'creator' of Doctor Who which is false and incorrect. Sydney Newman is the creator of the "long-running BBC sci-fi series Doctor Who." Furthermore, Chris Chibnall who oversaw the last season of 12 of Doctor Who is responsible for the negative and demise of the franchise due to the negative feedback of its fanbase. The moderators have repeatedly reverted amendments to the text to reflect on the success or failures of the show. Failure to change this paragraph will result in communication with the relevant parties. Chris Chibnall did not and has never created Doctor Who. Chris Chibnall did not and has never successfully executed Season 12 of Doctor Who to the expectations of the fans. If the Moderators continue to revert changes, will result in an inquiry and further actions. 144.137.74.102 (talk) 01:11, 9 June 2020 (UTC)
- Not done: Do not make legal threats In any case, the rant about the demise of the franchise is afoul of WP:NPOV. The statement, when read by a competent English-speaking person (in this case, me), clearly says that he was the " the creator and writer of the award-winning ITV mystery-crime drama Broadchurch" and; separately, the "the current show-runner of the long-running BBC sci-fi series Doctor Who." No such misleading statement as what you claim. RandomCanadian (talk / contribs) 02:21, 9 June 2020 (UTC)

Criticism section
[edit]This article should have a section on criticism of Chibnall. Right now, it's definitely not neutral. I would add some valid criticism from reliable sources, but right now the article is locked. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 197.86.143.126 (talk) 15:33, 10 June 2020 (UTC)

- on one hand I do agree that certain criticisms should get documented on here such as the timeless child backlash, and some of his mishandling of representation, particularly ryans dyspraxia. This probably goes without saying but naturally such critisms should not come from random youtube videos. Then again I think having a critisms section would attract alot of vandalism Mylo pinto rizvi (talk) 08:09, 8 January 2022 (UTC)
