Notability

[edit]

Looking at the notability tag, I'm seeing recognition as a Scarlet Stiletto award-winner, among others, and searching on that shows many pages of articles on authors with similar publication lists. Long career, many publications. Looks like this article was compiled by someone close to the author, unfamiliar with wikistyle. I've cleaned it up a little, but there's more work to be done. Any chance of an image?

FWIW, I like Broadribb's work, comparing it favourably to the far more well-known Kerry Greenwood. Looking forward to the movie series. --Pete (talk) 05:25, 28 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for cleaning it up, I added the notability tag because I had never heard of the author, and every single source provided was WP:SPS, usually when only those type of sources are provided it's because notability is lacking, although, since I didn't search for notability is the reason I didn't tag it for deletion. Given that another editor has heard of the author gives it a lot more credibility. Still need some third-party sources to verify notability. -War wizard90 (talk) 05:51, 28 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. I spotted it and thought, geez, that's the sort of article someone with no wikiexperience but a quick mind might produce. Like to encourage such folk to do more work in this field, which is full of stubs, even for quite well-known literary figures. I've got more third party sources coming. --Pete (talk) 07:17, 28 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
