Title hyphen confusion

[edit]

There's no hyphen in "double murder", but is in "murder-suicide". Seems to have mixed someone up here. A right way to say it is "Chris Benoit double murder-suicide". Agreed? InedibleHulk (talk) 03:15, 28 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I already proposed a move a while ago. I'd forgotten, and still don't quite remember. Nevertheless, it's a different title suggestion now. InedibleHulk (talk) 03:19, 28 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

It should not be a hyphen in that case but an en dash. The current title may be using the hyphen for "double murder" in a misguided attempt to ensure that "double" is understood to modify only "murder" and not also "suicide". That would be quite an odd way for a reader to interpret it, but maybe it just looks more correct in the article namer(s)'s eyes. I would support just getting rid of the hyphen so it reads "double murder and suicide". WP Ludicer (talk) 02:28, 12 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

"The said IP is tentatively linked to vandalizing so and so wiki articles..."

[edit]

About an edit that occured many hours before his wife's death, the above line (or something to that effect) is presented. Why are we making it sound like some hi tech 24 shit when all one has to do to reach that conclusion is click "history" at the top and click on the guy's ip address... this will show the rest of his contributions. Why not write "the anonymous editor had previously vandalized so and so articles" instead of "tentatively linked to " whatever 🙄.
