History of choozhattukotta
[edit]Long years ago the king of Travancore: Sri.Anizham Thirunal Marthanda varma Had escaped in fear of ettuvittil pilla's(early land lords of travancore). While escaping from their hands raja Marthanda varma came across Choozhattukota (a remote region in travancore) Karamana river is passing through this region. While passing over this region the king understood that he cannot swim across the river. So, the beatitude king called out this place as choozhattukotta means the place sinked in water ("choozha" a malayalam phrase means "sinking" and "kotta" means "fort") this is the geographical & historical significance of the land Abin s.s (talk) 18:09, 23 February 2017 (UTC)
