Where can I find monochloroacetic acid, i.e. who are some suppliers? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.238.2.172 (talk) 17:39, 13 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I've heard that monochloroacetic acid is particularly toxic (more than other chlorinated carboxylic acids), possibly due to the mentioned interfere in citric acid cycle, and that a spillage on the skin can be enough for intoxication. Someone who knows more about this? Are there any antidotes? -- 08:23, 18 January 2006 (UTC)

Maybe [1] answers some of the questions.

There is a chloroacetic acid article but dichloroacetic acid redirects to chloroacetic acids. I think a page should be made for dichloroacetic acid, or chloroacetic acid should be merged with chloroacetic acids, but which? What do other people think? --PhiJ 09:36, 27 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The table lists the melting point of dicholoracetic acid (DCA) as 9.7°C the DCA page lists it as 13.5°C. The first chemical reference book in reach (a Fluka 2002) states 13-15°C in agreement with the DCA page. On further checking (2nd catalogue in reach, Acros Organics 2007) states 9-11°C. It might not be clear what the exact Tm is but there should in my opinion at least be consensus between the two articles. --137.224.252.10 15:07, 20 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
