Chipwich discontinued

[edit]

I contacted Dreyer's via their website and today I received the following response:

Thank you for your email letting me know of your disappointment in being unable to find Eskimo Pie Chipwich Vanilla Sandwich at your local market. I realize how frustrating it can be to search for, but fail to find, your favorite dessert treats.

Unfortunately, this particular flavor has been discontinued from our product line. Each year, we evaluate our current flavors and products, our slower selling flavors and products are discontinued based on National Sales. However, it is possible if we hear from enough consumers who share your views this product could be reinstated. I will be happy to forward your comments on to our Marketing Department for review. I hope that you will find another flavor that can take the place of your favorite. I appreciate your taking the time to contact our company to let me know of your flavor preference.

I would like to include this information in the official information (since no one really looks here in the discussion section) but since I can't link to a published report, I'm leery of putting this information out as official. How, if at all, should I proceed on this? Jladams97 (talk) 21:55, 30 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

That isn’t significant information whatsoever. So of course it shouldn’t be added to the article, lol. 2600:1014:B025:4D29:3842:734:367E:F8EE (talk) 22:25, 24 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Challenge to date of invention

[edit]

I'm pretty sure I was buying and eating Chipwiches -- as a packaged item, under that name -- in the fall of 1980 in Boston. That would put the date of invention earlier than the article's 1981. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 137.71.23.54 (talk) 18:39, 21 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I remember my aunts and uncles used to always talk about how big a treat "ice cream sandwiches" (which was the same thing a chipwich is) was for them as children. I'm not claiming my grandparents are the inventors, just that the idea of there being an inventor of this in the 1980s is ludicrous.101.98.180.197 (talk) 10:33, 22 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
