[edit]Charles "Chip" Prather is an important political and community figure in one of California's fastest growing counties. Chip Prather helped the county survive the bankruptcy crisis of 1995, which restructured the agency from a fire department to a joint-powers authority, was awarded Fire Chief of the Year (nation-wide award, bestowed upon by then governor Gray Davis, and President George W. Bush), in addition to numerous other awards during his service. His most recent accomplishments (and criticisms) include the recent devastating fires in San Diego and Orange County where he was an outspoken critic of what he characterized, Governor Schwarzenneger's "slow response" to assisting the County's firefighters.

I appreciate the help Jake. I have an opensource image of the chief I'd like to add. How do I embed the photo in this article?(UTC)
- You can do that here. — Jake Wartenberg 05:23, 1 September 2009 (UTC)
- Regarding the infobox, you need to use parameters that already exist (see here). I know this can be confusing and intimidating at first. Also, sign you posts on talk pages with ~~~~ at the end. — Jake Wartenberg 05:31, 1 September 2009 (UTC)
