Move to Chinese folk religion in Southeast Asia

[edit]

I can find no reference to the term "Shenism" in the surveys in the article's notes 1 or 2; no reference for the statement in the lead that "shenism" is in fact "one of the alternative names for the Chinese folk religiion"; and the main article is "Chinese folk religion," not "shenism." The term "shenism" is extremely rare in the scholarly literature and the most of the citation in popular and internet blogs is derived circularly from Wikipedia: Shenism. The residual redirect can handle any searches for Shenism.

Wikipedia articles such as Chinese religion and Religion in Asia do not use "shenism" and I will argue that the article Chinese folk religion should not.

"Chinese folk religion" is the common name, as indicated in the Google Search Chinese folk religion

Therefore I moved the article to "Chinese folk religion in Southeast Asia" and adjusted the lead. ch (talk) 04:37, 27 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
