Jean Harlow in China Seas
[edit]Greetings administrator(s), in no way can one justify the removal of my politically correct , npov edit re her character description in "China Seas" the movie.--63.116.149.163 (talk) 22:00, 13 February 2010 (UTC)
- "Politically correct," in this case, equals Orwellian revisionism - and we don't do that here. The character was written as a "floozy" - and so it will remain. Besides, the politically correct definition for "floozy" is not "strong willed woman." It is "promiscuous, vacuous, female alcoholic" - attributes not typically associated with "strong willed women." "Floozy" communicates this point efficiently and effectively. Rklawton (talk) 22:37, 13 February 2010 (UTC)
Greetings again and my apologys I did not intentionally edit war with anyone. I am a new editor and saw a mistake about one of my fave films. please do not block me from editing. --63.116.149.163 (talk) 22:43, 13 February 2010 (UTC)
- Please do not revise our articles for "political correctness." The movie is 75 years old and reflects the values and ideals of the time. Recasting the characters' descriptions in modern terms does a disservice to the actors and director. Rklawton (talk) 22:57, 13 February 2010 (UTC)
It's too bad the wonderful poster was removed and the VHS cover substituted. It's so difficult to illustrate anything on Wikipedia that I sometimes think it would be easier on everybody if any illustrations of any sort were banned from the whole site. That way no one would have to waste their time trying to illustrate anything and the site would be only text. Much as I hate to say that. Upsmiler (talk) 05:17, 1 August 2011 (UTC)
Political Correctness is Wikipedia's bible, and PC is caving to whatever is the publicly accepted (via the corporate media) views of the time. Truth is not relevent here, only not being sued is relevent. As a result there is absolutely nothing about the plot of this movie in this "article". — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.23.21.81 (talk) 20:30, 23 December 2011 (UTC)
