Page move

[edit]

I totally disagree with the page move to China Railcom. China Tietong has been the official name of the company since 2004 (see the official website, so we shouldn't use the old name. In addition, the rationale for moving ("common name used by English news media") is mistaken - a search of Google News for China Tietong gets 249 hits, compared to China Railcom with only 23 hits (all Google hits as of 2008.06.02).

According to Wikipedia:Naming conflict, the 3 objective criteria are:

  • Is the name in common usage in English? Both names are common, but China Tietong is more common.
  • Is it the official current name of the subject? China Tietong is the official current name.
  • Is it the name used by the subject to describe itself or themselves? The company calls itself China Tietong.

Therefore the page should be moved back to China Tietong. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Ironfrost (talkcontribs) 13:37, 2 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
