area discrepancy
[edit]The article currently states that Chimney Rock lies on 4,100 acres (17 km²), per webpage supporting that. The National Register of Historic Places listing for Chimney Rock Archeological Site, as reported in the NRIS database, however, gives area of 960 acres (390 ha). Perhaps not all of the area was deemed NRHP-eligible, or the area was expanded after NRHP listing, or the NRIS database is incorrect. The NRHP listing document could be obtained for free by request to nr_reference (at) nps.gov. doncram (talk) 00:52, 14 October 2009 (UTC)
rewording needed
[edit]At a minimum, the article needs rewording so that it is not a verbatim copy of http://www.chimneyrockco.org/mainnew.htm . That website is, by default, copyrighted and not public domain. Copyright is owned by the nonprofit, notwithstanding that it has received Federal funding. doncram (talk) 00:55, 14 October 2009 (UTC)
incorrect location in photo
[edit]The rock formation featured in the photo is located in Montezuma County, Colorado. It is indeed known as Chimney Rock, however this is not the same Chimney Rock that the article is referring to. Chimney Rock, home of the famed ancestral Puebloan ruins site, is located further east in Archuleta County, Colorado. RangerStephen (talk) 03:50, 23 November 2009 (UTC)
- RangerSteve is right. I will remove the foto from this article. Plazak (talk) 13:50, 4 April 2010 (UTC)
