Could someone with more in the know determine who is "The best result for the team was MacKey's 16th-place finish in the javelin qualifying events." There were supposedly only two athlete team sent and not one of them is named Mackey. 2603:8000:D300:D0F:A4A9:1E1:30A5:4340 (talk) 03:51, 30 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
When the page was first being built up, this edit by User:Jonel added two mentions of Arthur MacKey, the one that is still there and one in the results table. Quite a bit later, in this editUser:Sfs90 added two mentions of Arturo Medina, one of them replacing the result entry for Arthur MacKey. This was done without citing a source, even though there is a potential source at https://www.olympedia.org/athletes/66386 that was given on Medina's page. They missed the mention of MacKey in the running text. Sfs90 is still an active editor, while Jonel seems to be less active these days.
What is to be done in this case? I don't have access to either of the sources cited for the page, so I would see if Sfs90 wishes to look into the matter and maybe resolve the discrepancy. There should be reliable sources accessible online that cover Olympics results in enough detail to figure this out; probably replace MacKey in the text with Medina. — jmcgnh(talk)(contribs)04:43, 30 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
