[edit]This is late. But, as the original author of most of this post (69.212.98.92, back in 2005), I wanted to thank everyone who has worked on this since. I am proud of this post. I used to host a Children's Music show called "Mah Na Mah Na" (think: Doctor Demento meets Mister Rogers) back in the aughts and I am glad we have covered this topic so well. KUDOS! _Mark
I'm going to take a stab at this one, starting with a general description. I'll try to do a little work every day to get it more 'wikified'. Beanie999 13:43, 14 December 2006 (UTC)Beanie999
I suppose this article may be unstubbed, given it's length. (plus, the positioning of the stub suggests that it might be part of an older version of the article.) --TheSock 03:47, September 5, 2005 (UTC)
man, this thing needs some work. Shamrox 18:56, 13 May 2006 (UTC)
I appreciate pointing out the unsourced sentences, but most of the rest of the changes seem to be advertisement for Raffi. It looks like more work is needed. Perhaps Shamrox will explain what they meant by children's music becoming 'legitimate' in the 70s. :-{)]
I'm deleting the statement that Raffi stepped away from childrens' music in the 90's. Bananaphone was released in 1994 and Let's Play in 2002, still obviously targeting most of his music at kids.
Edited link to Trout Fishing In America (band) to work correctly.DaKine 18:59, 14 January 2007 (UTC)

Rationalising Children's music and Children's songs
[edit]This is just to warn anyone who is interested in this article that as part of an attempt to clean up Children's songs I plan to make some adjustments here. At the moment it will involve moving relevant material at the start of this article on Music by children to there and then putting a summary of that article here at the start with a link (as is the wikipedia style) so it should not be a major disruption. I will add any references I have to this article as well. All this unless there are major objections.--Sabrebd (talk) 18:23, 5 March 2009 (UTC)
There were no major objections. I did this as best I could to minimise editing this article, deciding the make the scope of this clear and adding see also links to children's songs and nursery rhymes.--Sabrebd (talk) 16:35, 8 March 2009 (UTC)
Children for children
[edit]How about songs sung by children ? The article does not mention them. Aren't they childrens music ? 83.11.77.142 (talk) 19:39, 6 April 2014 (UTC)
