Did the title dispensary for a few hundred years? It went from the 1600's to the 1800's.
It's very heavily focused on the Ashkenazi CR and then the Israeli Election process, I think an article titled CRoJ should have some History section and maybe a section of the CR dealing with the government if we can find it. But right now, I think the article might not even be necessary since it's just an expansion, if you will, of a generic chief rabbi article.
Honorifics should be included in the names, at least for the first time the name is mentioned. I think that is the naming convention used. Sir Joseph(talk)14:12, 23 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Sources seem to be mixing up Chief Rabbi of Israel and Chief Rabbi of Jerusalem. The timeline for many rabbis seem to have them as Rishon L'Zion, but they are in this list and there is no mention of being Chief Rabbi of Jerusalem. This seems to be unsourced.
I am starting to think this page should be deleted. Most of the names are not sourced at all and they are not the Chief Rabbis of Jerusalem. Sir Joseph(talk)17:40, 25 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
No response to any of my claims. Many of the rabbis lists are unsourced to Chief Rabbi of Jerusalem, or they are Chief Rabbi of the whole land, not Jerusalem. This article needs more sources. Sir Joseph(talk)15:14, 5 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Comment - it seems there have been a number of positions which are mixed in this article: Chief Rabbi of Jerusalem (Sephardic 15-17th centuries), Rishon LeZion (Sephardic 17th century-1842), Hakham Bashi (Sephardic 1842-1918 and 1920-1948), Chief Rabbi of Jerusalem (Ashkenazi 1840s-1918), similar during British Mandate and current Jerusalem rabbinic council headed by Rabbi Shlomo Amar and Rabbi Aryeh Stern - which should be the main topic of this article per [1]. Propose to list all the historic titles in history section and specify here information on current Chief Rabbis of Jerusalem.GreyShark (dibra) 08:15, 19 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I agree. When I find a person who was not CRoJ, I remove them from the list but I am not going to go through each person in one sitting. This article is on the CRoJ, not CRoI and the variants. Sir Joseph(talk)13:51, 19 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
