Rawlings Team Gold Glove Award
[edit]Was wondering if it would be a good idea to add the Rawlings Team Gold Glove award to the list of major league titles, or perhaps somewhere else? Biaskiller45 (talk) 15:20, 26 February 2021 (UTC)
- Added! Year by year awards don't go in the "major league titles" section as that is reserved for championships/playoff appearances. Gold glove award now mentioned in the 2020 season section. Pierson Strandquist (talk) 23:37, 15 May 2023 (UTC)
Singular Noun
[edit]The article assumes Cubs is a plural noun ("The Cubs are..."). Surely it is a single entity, therefore should be "The Cubs is a baseball team..." — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2A00:23C7:B180:2A01:4825:405F:F0C1:BB52 (talk) 15:49, 10 May 2021 (UTC)
- Since this is an American topic, it is written with American grammar - please see Wikipedia's Manual of Style, specifically, MOS:PLURALS. You will notice that most American and Canadian sports use this style of grammar. -- StarScream1007 ►Talk 16:43, 10 May 2021 (UTC)

The first sentence is a fragment. It says they are "based," pretty sure it's supposed to say they are "based in Chicago, Illinois."— Preceding unsigned comment added by 73.25.22.73 (talk • contribs)

At the trade deadline during the 2021 season, the Cubs traded Javier Báez, Kris Bryant, and Anthony Rizzo leaving Willson Contreras, Jason Heyward and Kyle Hendricks as the only remaining players from the World Series team.[1] Jdanderson355 (talk) 22:58, 2 August 2021 (UTC)
- Good catch. -- StarScream1007 ►Talk 23:09, 2 August 2021 (UTC)

There is a grammatical error in the third sentence of the first paragraph of the lead. It should be changed from "The club plays its home games at Wrigley Field, which is located on the Chicago's North Side." to "The club plays its home games at Wrigley Field, which is located on Chicago's North Side." ChorbyHorby (talk) 21:15, 18 August 2022 (UTC)
- Done. Good catch! -- StarScream1007 ►Talk 22:00, 18 August 2022 (UTC)
- Another grammatical error to fix please - in the 1998 there's a period that's placed after "batted" instead of in front of the stat. 32.212.227.197 (talk) 05:15, 19 January 2023 (UTC)
- Took care of it. Thanks! Larry Hockett (Talk) 09:11, 19 January 2023 (UTC)

[edit]fulfilling a class requirement by making wiki edits. Perhaps the note on Arrieta's 2015 no hitter should mention his Cy Young Award and/or historic run of dominance

- I added a mention of the award to the 2015-2019 section. Thanks, -- StarScream1007 ►Talk 01:36, 29 April 2023 (UTC)
Miguel Amaya
[edit]On the roster section it lists Miguel Amaya as wearing #9, but he currently wears #6. Pierson Strandquist (talk) 17:01, 7 May 2023 (UTC)
- Done. Editing the roster box is a bit weird. You can click on the "E" in the roser box's upper right-hand corner or go to Template:Chicago Cubs roster and click the "Edit" tab. Thanks for the heads up. -- StarScream1007 ►Talk 17:45, 7 May 2023 (UTC)
Cubs founding date
[edit]The Cubs' founding date is officially listed as 1876 on Wikipedia, but that's only their Major League debut. They played in the National Association since at least 1870/1. If the Braves are listed as having been established in 1871, then why not the Cubs? TheCelebrinator (talk) 08:25, 10 August 2023 (UTC)
