ChiangChiang (disambiguation) – Per WP:PRIMARYREDIRECT. Same as Mao redirecting to Mao Zedong, Chiang Kai-Shek is probably the most notable individual for this uncommon surname and word, and thus should redirect to Chiang Kai-Shek accordingly. Zinderboff(talk) 12:41, 1 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

  • Weak oppose. Chiang Ching-kuo was president of Taiwan for 10 years, and there are other notable Taiwanese politicians with this transliteration, like Johnny Chiang. Chiang Kai-shek is certainly the most famous person with this name, but I don't think the disparity is as big as it is for Mao Zedong. Moreover, Mao Zedong is often referred to as just "Mao" in English-language sources; I think Chiang Kai-shek is usually referred to by his full name, at least on first mention. —Mx. • Oppose for the same reason as Mx.Granger. While Chiang Kai-Shek is the most notable person with this name spelling, he isn't as predominantly known by just the surname as Mao or, say, Mozart, and the term should be considered one without a primary topic. --Paul_012 (talk) 02:28, 4 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose. While WikiNav no longer shows the absolute pageviews for April 2024, it does show that percentage-wise, about 60% of outgoing views went to the page on the surname Jiang, <40% to Chiang Kai-Shek, and the rest to some unknown destination(s). For full transparency, May saw 99 incoming views; 21 outgoing views went to CKS, 10 to the surname, and the rest are not tracked. Any argument for primacy by views will need to address April's outgoing views. Rotideypoc41352 (talk · contribs) 04:59, 6 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
