Discussion from old Chapra talk page
[edit]Is Chhapra about the same city? Is it a valid alternative spelling? RJFJR 02:52, 4 May 2007 (UTC)
Yes , it is commonly missplet as Chapra. If you see official documents. It is mention Chhapra not Chapra. I suggest the name in this article may be changed to Chhapra so that people looking for Chhapra reach this site.
Mkscpr (talk) 16:28, 31 December 2012 (UTC)In many official documents you can see "Chapra". It is another style of writing.
'Chhapra ( commonly mis-spelt Chapra or Chupra ) is head-quarter of Saran Division, which consists three districts, Siwan, Gopalganj and Chhapra (called Saran ) . Chhapra , ( Latitude - 25.47° North and Longitude - 84.47° East ) located in low, fertile Gangetic plain, has relatively cool, dry winters and hot summers with 750 mm. to 1350 mm. of rain annually. It is 70 Km. away from Patna , capital of Bihar and situated near the confluence of rivers, the Ganges and Ghaghara .
Gopalganj was a Sub-Division of Old Saran District . It was made separate district on 2nd October,1973 . District Rural Development Authority was established in 1979-80'. --Skr91 11:56, 4 December 2007 (UTC)
Merge any relevant information from Chhapra to this article. Then change Chhapra to a redirect page to here. I have already changed Chappra to a redirect to here. Sting_au Talk 12:46, 4 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit]Is this spelled Chhapra or Chapra or is sometimes spelled either way? RJFJR 02:47, 4 May 2007 (UTC) Chapra is the most common spelling and is widely accepted. Chhapra though phonetically correct is not in common use. Is asharam and alternative spelling of ashram? RJFJR 02:53, 4 May 2007 (UTC) Ashram is the correct spelling as asharam may get confused with famous Asaram Bapu, the preacher from Gujrat.
The actual spelling is "Chhapra" and not "Chapra", though colloquially people use these spellings interchangeably. If at the change has to be made, it should be Chhapra.
Regarding, the word "asharam" and "ashram", the latter should be preffered. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Dksnana (talk • contribs) 23:39, 26 November 2007 (UTC)
Yes... I agree let us merge these all three into one .... Chhapra is correct as per Indian Government spelling in the Gazzette. So, we should agree on the spelling of chhapra for correctness of the word. We cannot keep washingtun for Washington. Is not it ? --Skr91 (talk) 21:10, 6 December 2007 (UTC)
- This is difficulty with chosing page a title based on an editor's personal assertions of which name is correct, especially when they fail to provide any evidence to back up their claims. The 2011 census atlas, published by the Office of the Registrar General and Census Commissioner, shows the spelling clearly as Chapra. Skinsmoke (talk) 06:55, 20 December 2012 (UTC)

college website added
[edit]Not that I am saying it is incorrect, but someone added that there is a website linked to the school that is hosted by blogspot. That doesn't sound very believeable. --RichardMills65 (talk) 03:04, 20 April 2012 (UTC)

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Chhapra's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. AnomieBOT⚡ 17:52, 6 April 2017 (UTC)
