- I don't know how to make this more clear. In the Data Section on the right side is a driver diameter dimension X=74" The correct dimension is Y=72"
- I was the Chief Mechanical Officer (CMO) during the restoration in 1980. Srwicker (talk) 01:55, 7 August 2023 (UTC)

In the data section, the Driver dimension is listed as 74 inches. This is incorrect. The correct diameter is 72." I was the CMO during the 1980 restoration. Srwicker (talk) 01:53, 7 August 2023 (UTC)

Please change the driver diameter from 74”to 72”, the tractive effort from 66,450 to 64,280 lbs and the factor of adhesion from 4.29 to 4.44. The C&O 614 has 72” drivers, not 74”. Steve Wickersham, the former chief mechanical officer for the 614 from 1980-1985 said so (he’s on Facebook if you’d like to confirm) and I measured the drivers myself, and they are indeed 72” in diameter. The C&O diagrams are incorrect. This means the tractive effort is 68,300 lbs at 85% cutoff, not 66,450. 614 operates at 80% cutoff, so it’s true tractive effort is 64,280 lbs (according to the tractive effort calculator on steamlocomotive.com). Please change the driver diameter from 74”to 72”, the tractive effort from 66,450 to 64,280 lbs and the factor of adhesion from 4.29 to 4.44. GreenbrierJ3A (talk) 04:59, 20 February 2024 (UTC)
Not done: please provide reliable sources that support the change you want to be made. While I don't doubt your efforts, just measuring the drivers yourself constitutes original research, which can't be used for sourcing Wikipedia articles. Likewise, Facebook is not considered a reliable source, even for information from authorities in their field. If you can find a published reliable source for this information, please feel free to reopen this edit request with a link. PianoDan (talk) 19:27, 26 February 2024 (UTC)
