Place of Birth
[edit]What is her place of birth? The infobox says London while the body of the text says Nottingham with a reference from the General Registry. Which is right? TheRetroGuy (talk) 15:39, 20 February 2009 (UTC)
- TV.com says Nottingham [1] so let's go with that. If anyone knows different then feel free to update the article. Cheers TheRetroGuy (talk) 15:42, 20 February 2009 (UTC)
'Best known'
[edit]It's preposterous to suggest CL is best known to audiences from some obscure Arthurian movie from 1981. She's made regular starring appearances in TV drama for nearly 40 years. And best known for a Kenco coffee ad? That's actually insulting. The quoted reference (a lightweight Daily Mail lifestyle piece) doesn't support any of these statements. --Ef80 (talk) 20:18, 10 August 2012 (UTC)
- I guess it depends what generation you're from, as she was notable for different things at different times. As one who grew up in the 1980s/early 1990s she is most recognisable to me for her roles in the Kenco ads and as The Manageress - the latter being somewhat of a breakthrough series, I seem to recall. But she has done lots of other TV work. Also, I wouldn't say the Kenco ad stuff is insulting because it was a huge campaign at the time, but I agree we need to rework the article a bit, particularly the lead. Paul MacDermott (talk) 21:15, 10 August 2012 (UTC)
- My first memory of her is as the female lead in The Monocled Mutineer in 1986, but as you imply there isn't a single standout memorable role as she has been so active throughout her career without having a unique Hollywood breakout moment. Perhaps it would just be better to remove the 'best known' stuff altogether. --Ef80 (talk) 19:31, 11 August 2012 (UTC)
- I think removing the "best known" sounds like a good plan, and I'm happy to go with it. I guess after introducing her name and job titles we could say something like: "Lunghi has had numerous acting roles in film, television and on stage spanning four decades, including . . . " BTW, must admit I'd forgotten about that series. Paul MacDermott (talk) 21:49, 11 August 2012 (UTC)
- I have rewritten the intro to reflect this emerging consensus :) --Ef80 (talk) 23:51, 11 August 2012 (UTC)
- That looks fine. Good work. Paul MacDermott (talk) 11:36, 12 August 2012 (UTC)
