Name of Hospital
[edit]I recall that before the new hospital opened in the early 1990s it was referred to as the Westminster and Chelsea Hospital, before being officially opened as the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital. A popular explanation for the change was the likelihood, if it ever acquired a Royal prefix, (as the London Hospital had around that time) of its becoming known as "The Royal WC." NRPanikker (talk) 15:38, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
- I have also heard that rumour, my source was the owner of a local tapas bar (the "El Torero Loco"). It would be great if someone had a documented, verifiable source. Benweatherhead (talk) 01:42, 19 February 2009 (UTC)
- Good story, but not very plausible. As the hospital is located in Chelsea, and quite far from the border with Westminster, and as it's also the result of a merger of five hospitals, whereof only two were situated in Westminster, it's very doubtful that the name of the new hospital was ever planned to name Westminster first. And even if it was contemplated, no officials would have decided against it because of that possible nick name risk. Politicians and NHS bureaucrats aren't that bright. Thomas Blomberg (talk) 18:33, 29 July 2013 (UTC)
- The Westminster Hospital took priority in the original name as it was the only one of the five with a medical school, the West London Hospital's school being by then long defunct. NRPanikker (talk) 12:10, 7 February 2019 (UTC)

Notable people
[edit]I find the chapter "Notable people" extremely questionable. It's just a list of babies with semi-famous parents. And although linked, none of the children have their own page, as the linke only go to the parents. Just because it's a fact, it doesn't mean that it's of any interest. Wikipedia is not a site for celebrity gossip.
If "Notable people" should remain, it should list people like Margaret Thatcher, who stayed there a few years before she died, not unknown children. I'm tempted to just remove the chapter, but I guess it's better to get some sort of consensus first, Thomas Blomberg (talk) 18:20, 29 July 2013 (UTC)
