Classification Cheats=
[edit]Untitled
[edit]It would appear nothing has been done to prevent 'classification cheats' since a call to do so by Tanni Grey Thompson (11 medal winner with Team GB) - see <http://news.sky.com/home/uk-news/article/16058367>.
Necessary?
[edit]I'm wondering how necessary this article is right now. It begins "Cheating at the Paralympic Games has caused scandals that have significantly changed the way in which the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) run the events. Competitors without disabilities have competed in some Paralympic Games..." It then goes on to detail only one such scandal, the case of Spanish athletes with intellectual disability at the Sydney Games in 2000. Are there other cases? - Eron Talk 00:20, 15 August 2007 (UTC)
- Several, and I'll be adding them over time. violet/riga (t) 08:15, 15 August 2007 (UTC)
- More are scheduled for the 2008 games as well. --Tom 06:14, 8 September 2007 (UTC)
Cheating at 2012 Paralympic Games in London
[edit]I feel it will be timely to add a section on this in the run up to 2012 - almost nothing has been done to address 'classification cheating' since the last Olympics, and approaches to the event organisers have yielded no information about safeguards put in place. 79.70.225.243 (talk) 22:41, 18 March 2012 (UTC)twl79.70.225.243 (talk) 22:41, 18 March 2012 (UTC)
