The result of the debate was move to Charlottenhof Palace. —Nightstallion (?) 08:41, 15 March 2006 (UTC)
Requested move
[edit]Chateau Charlottenhof → Charlottenhof Palace - I believe there was a slight error in the translation of schloss to chateau. Chateau is a French word applied to French structures. Schloss is different and is translated as chateau only in French and into palace or castle in English. The foundation that cares for Charlottenhof is that which cares for Prussian *palaces*. Keeping it at Chateau Charlottenhof is akin to Schloss Versailles or Chateau Buckingham. Charles 05:49, 11 March 2006 (UTC)

- Support, but would prefer simple Charlottenhof. Septentrionalis 02:16, 12 March 2006 (UTC)
- Oppose, see reference below. --Mmounties (Talk) 18:08, 12 March 2006 (UTC)

Discussion
[edit]- As above, note usage of palace on official site Charlottenhof Palace Charles 05:49, 11 March 2006 (UTC)
- I personally prefer Schloss Charlottenhof, but there does seem to be significant evidence that Charlottenhof Palace is also used in English (and even by the official body responsible for the building). It has been suggested on the Talk:Chateau Schönhausen page that a decision on a name change there should have a similar effect on a name change of this page. I strongly urge that a name change for this page be decided here. Noel S McFerran 02:30, 15 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit]This article should be treated the same way as the article above. No need to start a separate discussion here. --18:07, 12 March 2006 (UTC)
Official usage on its own English page is sufficient, in my opinion, plus the vote's in favour. —Nightstallion (?) 08:41, 15 March 2006 (UTC)
