[edit]I believe this fits criteria for wikipedia because Chase is a remarkable person who people should know more about he did a great help to the world and should be known worldwide. I will try to continue adding information to this wiki page and i hope others will as well. (The preceding comments by User:Makenzie14 are being moved here from the article.)
- He might have done a lot of help to the whole world, but this article does not fit at all with our notability guidelines, so it should be deleted. Wikipedia is not a memorial site. I hope you understand. --Angelo 01:19, 9 September 2007 (UTC)
- I'm adding links to things like news articles to demonstrate his notability. --Coppertwig 01:26, 9 September 2007 (UTC)
- Okay. I am removing the speedy deletion tag due to your efforts, however I would consider starting an AFD in order to establish once and for all if the subject is entitled to have an article or not. --Angelo 01:29, 9 September 2007 (UTC)

Chase McEachern Act
[edit]I gather that the Chase McEachern Act seems to have passed, since it's listed as an "Act" at an official government site. (If not passed yet, I believe it would be a "Bill".) --Coppertwig 02:14, 9 September 2007 (UTC)
UPDATE: The Chase McEachern Act (Heart Defibrillator Civil Liability Act) passed in June, 2007. This Act exempts a lay user from civil liability for attempting to aid another individual with a defibrillator. It was named after Chase, a young man with a heart condition and a strong interest in sports. He and his family advocated to have this law passed, but he did not survive long enough to see it enacted.
The Heart and Stroke Foundation and several companies put up $3 million to assist the 770 arenas in Ontario to purchase AEDs and train up to 6 staff in their use. By January, 2008, all arenas had their equipment and training.
The next step is the Defibrillator Access Act, which passed second reading in the Ontario legislature on April 21, 2010. It will make it mandatory for AEDs to be installed in all public places. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.63.54.234 (talk) 12:40, 21 May 2010 (UTC)
Chase's letter
[edit]I deleted Chase's letter to Don Cherry because I don't know what its copyright status is. Please see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. Perhaps one or two short quotes from the letter could be used. --Coppertwig 00:40, 12 September 2007 (UTC)
Wait, what?
[edit]So this kid just happened to suffer a cardiac arrest after he campaigned for AEDs to be made available? That sounds a bit odd. Also, it seems like many of the references are irrelevant. --Alx xlA (talk) 01:45, 19 November 2010 (UTC)
