Calling the CPCU the premier insurance designation is not fully accurate. I would agree that it is the premier underwriting designation that is often obtained by non-underwriters. The FCAS designation is the premier actuarial designation. CPAs also move up the insurance ladder as quickly as either actuaries or underwriters. 66.192.197.9 (talk) 13:34, 28 June 2013 (UTC)John
- I agree that we cannot verify that the CPCU "is widely considered the premier designation in the property and casualty insurance industry". As an actuarial student, I can attest that there are many different designations in the industry, all of which may be considered "premier" in their own subject areas. But such claims are not appropriate for an encyclopedia and should be removed per WP:PEACOCK. I will remove it shortly. Edge3 (talk) 04:01, 3 October 2013 (UTC)
