Boxes or bulleted lists?
[edit]This article uses boxes with stars, rather than bulleted lists. Maybe it should be bulleted lists. The leading blanks may be a typographical error. --DThomsen8 (talk) 00:39, 3 June 2009 (UTC)
Neutrality
[edit]As of 24 June 2011 the article contains a list of allegations against the accounting and auditing profession in Ireland, not all of which are specific to this Institute. They might be better used in a new article Accounting in Ireland; compare others in Category:Accounting by country. - Fayenatic (talk) 22:54, 24 June 2011 (UTC)
Neutrality (works both ways)
[edit]As per the above (very old) note, there is content in the article which is framed as somewhat "critical" of the body. However, there is also substantive content in the article which is framed as "promotional" of the body. And its members. The phrase "promote the vital role that Chartered Accountants play throughout the global economy" in particular stands out. Not least as it is a verbatim copy/paste of the marketing bumf from the subject's own website. With no indication given that this is a quote. And hence failing WP:ATTRIBUTEPOV (and indeed Copyvio) norms. Unless others have input or suggestions on how best to address, I am inclined to take a fairly aggressive axe to that content which (whether "pro" or "con" the subject) substantively fails WP:COPYPASTA, WP:ATTRIBUTEPOV, WP:TONE, WP:PROMO, WP:NPOV, and WP:ATP guidelines. Request to edit
[edit]This edit request by an editor with a conflict of interest has now been answered. |
- What I think should be changed: Hello, I would like some factual inaccuracies to be corrected, as follows. I don't believe I can do this myself as I work for the organisation in question and so have a conflict of interest. The changes I suggest are: The membership number is now 29,596 not 25,000 as mentioned. There is a citation missing from the Council membership paragraph, which I provide below. There are 9 District Societies, not 6.
- Why it should be changed: This information is out of date.

- Partly done: @ClaireHPercy: I have updated the membership count and added the citation. The article appears to correctly mention that there are six districts in Ireland, and three outside of Ireland. — Lauritz Thomsen (talk) 11:17, 9 August 2021 (UTC)
