History
[edit]- Having difficulty verifying town history. Believe it was originally gazetted as "Yowen Hill" in 1863, renamed East Charlton in 1876 and Charlton in 1879 as per The Vale of Avoca link. Need to verify for accuracy. MJK 06:33, 5 February 2006 (UTC)
I'm just reading news that says residents fear recent floods may be the end of Charlton. This is probably exaggeration, but the floods of January 2011 should be added to history of the town as significant event. Best wishes to all residents there.Ern Malleyscrub (talk) 02:52, 18 January 2011 (UTC)
