Wedding Date and Close Paraphrasing
[edit]I just made an edit on a section to change the wedding date and this is based on a source already used in the article ("Charlotte Murchison (Née Hugonin) 1788-1869"). I also changed the next sentence as it was previously nearly identical to a sentence from the source (same source as the wedding date), so I combined two of the previously existing sentences into one sentence that gets the same point across but avoids close paraphrasing of the source. The sentences now read:
"In 1815, Charlotte Hugonin met Roderick Murchison and married him on 29 August of the same year. She was the daughter of General Francis Hugonin (d. 1836), who was later described as highly intelligent by his daughter Charlotte, and Charlotte Hugonin née Edgar (d. 1838), who was a talented florist and botanist according to her daughter.[2]"

Major Article Revisions
[edit]For this article some major revisions and additions are planned on being performed to update and improve the content, and rework some of the existing material to make into more coherent ideas. Firstly, we're going to move around some of the sentences in the lead section since right now it seems to be a bit disorganized in sense of chronology and topic arrangement. As well, some of the current sentences are being moved into new sections (which I'll mention shortly) in order to make the lead section more to the point instead of getting into significant detail with some topics. Two new sections are being planned to be added to the section with the first one being a 'Personal life' section which will describe her relation with others as well as some of the collecting she did on her own time (not on major trips with her husband). The second section will be 'Travels through Continental Europe' and will discuss her major trips to Europe and how each impacted her life, as well as how she made impacts to each trip. Finally, with all of this we're making some revisions to address the accuracy and clarity of some of the existing sentences as some were slightly misleading in what happened, based off of sources that were looked at including once previously used. If anyone wants to know more or has any questions please let me know and feel free to look at my sandbox where a draft and ideas are. User:RFoley2/sandbox

Much of the information in the lead section is included in the main body of the article. I plan to tidy it up. Amanda Skeeters (talk) 15:17, 19 April 2019 (UTC)
- In a previous version of the lead section there was mention that she contributed to Roderick's work 'The Silurian System'. It looks as though this has been removed and looking back at it there were no citations for it and thus I can't find where the information came from. And while I believe it is likely true I have looked through the sources I have and couldn't find any direct mention of this and thus don't want to add it back until I have a source for it. Therefore, if anyone can find a source that says anything about her contribution to the work please feel free to add it back!
