Charles Nolte date of birth

[edit]

Many earlier sources give his date of birth as November 3 1926 including Daniel Blum in 1952's "Great Stars of the American Stage". Koplimek (talk) 02:49, 19 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Koplimek, I've changed it now, but we should probably add a note that some sources give 1923. Some of the sources giving 1923 are obituaries, and it seems Kilburn would have known whether his life partner was born the same year as him (in fact, just three weeks earlier) or not, right? It's all very strange. Softlavender (talk) 04:00, 26 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Softlavender, Charles's Wikipedia says he graduated high school in 1941 presumably at 18. Most of us do, and he was in the Navy during WW2, in fact in the thick of it. Wasn't it nice of Daniel Blum to include Charles in his 'Great Stars' book when Charles was beginning his career? I didn't know about his relationship with Mr. Kilburn though knew that Kilburn had been a child actor. ...May Charles Nolte Rest in Peace. Thanks for your input. Hi again, Koplimek, thanks for your response. If he was 18 in 1941, that would put his birth date back in 1923, so I'll change it back. Maybe he lied about his birthdate/age early in his career? Or maybe it was a typo/error that got passed down to a few other theatre encyclopedias. In any case, 1923 seems more reliable today. Cheers, Softlavender (talk) 05:27, 28 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
