Signature
[edit]Can anybody fix the problem in the infobox, under "Signature", where instead of an image of his signature there is just the filename? The filename (although on the long side) appears to be perfectly valid, and I can't see where the glitch is. GrindtXX (talk) 16:51, 21 May 2015 (UTC)
- OK, got it looking right, tho I'm not sure I've done it in the approved way. GrindtXX (talk) 19:06, 22 May 2015 (UTC)
When made Earl of Nottingham?
[edit]The section "Cadiz expedition: 1596" says he was made Earl of Nottingham in 1596 and then went off with Essex to attack Cadiz.
In the next section, "3rd Spanish Armada," it is said that he took over from Essex's failed Azores Voyage and on return in 1597 was made Earl of Nottingham.
Neither section cites any authority. AnthroMimus (talk) 01:22, 4 December 2016 (UTC)
The section on the armada needs rewriting
[edit]Someone filled in the section on the Spanish Armada with nothing but pages and pages of excerpts from letters, which are almost indecipherable because of the language. There is no actual description of events or attempt to describe the action of Howard or the expedition/slash battles. Many of these excerpts have nothing to do with the actual event but surround politics and intrigue over individuals. It’s completely inappropriate for a wiki page and I would like to request someone endeavor to rewrite this section 98.176.240.61 (talk) 21:25, 28 July 2023 (UTC)
Lord high babysitter to fellers like Drake
[edit]Only person he didn't babysit was Sir Walter Raleigh who lived mostly in the London tower as prisoner and Yeoman of the gaurd or running missions that profited everyone but himself . 2001:56B:3FFA:E3FB:340D:4894:3AD2:5F0B (talk) 22:30, 18 January 2024 (UTC)
