[edit]The article is ineptly written. It says that because of events celebrating Goethe's birthday in 1965, he made CSUS primary beneficiary in his will in 1963. It says that students and teachers successfully rebuffed the naming of a science building after him in 1965, yet it claims that eugenics was a progressive idea during his lifetime, which ended in 1966. --Enkido 20:03, 15 February 2007 (UTC)

Presumably the large park area on the south bank of the American River at Carmichael is named after Charles Goethe as well. Anyone know for sure?Cravenmonket 22:34, 18 February 2007 (UTC)
Can someone tell me if umlatts over the "o" in Goethe's name are appropriate or not!? And can this be sourced? Note that even if the umlatts [or whatever they're called] ARE appropriate, they should not be, suddenly, added EVERYWHERE. The Sacramento Bee does not use umlatts in their articles about him; thus the titles of its article should correctly be posted in the external-links section as being umlatt-less. --Enkido 17:32, 2 March 2007 (UTC)
Resource
[edit]Huge well-researched, cited, biographical resource (not unbiased) located online about Mr. Goethe located here: http://www.csus.edu/cshpe/eugenics/docs/goethe_report.pdf. I lack the time and the talent to integrate the information contained within into this article, despite its need. Neil916 (Talk) 06:37, 7 September 2012 (UTC)
