[edit]- I've created a much longer biography of Brooks on BhamWiki in case anyone would like to use it to expand this article, or create a link. [1]. --Dystopos 05:09, 21 March 2007 (UTC)

Brooks' cartoon attacking MLK, Jr.
[edit]He published a cartoon accusing MLK, Jr., of hypocritically tolerating or promoting violence while giving lip service to nonviolence. Brooks got his assessment of King and the Birmingham civil and economic rights protests very wrong and helped spread calumny against King in the city where he was, not long after, murdered. That's part of Brooks' legacy, too. This article should not leave that aspect out. Marvinvanngriffith (talk) 04:47, 30 August 2020 (UTC)
