contesting the speedy deletion
[edit]ZhongHan added a csd on the original, mistitled version of this article, so to be fair to wikipedia policy, I copied the csd to this article, and now want to contest the csd on this talk page. First of all, this article is not intended as spam to advertise the company as it does not have a large web presence nor electronic activity and neither it nor its competitors will likely be either positively or negatively affected by a wikipedia article on it. Second, I believe the Charles Beseler Company is notable for the following reasons: 1) it has existed for 10+ years (likely much longer, but this is to verify), and 2) it is involved in multiple industrial domains including the soon-to-be historic activity of silver halide photography. The company is likely to become an important part of history itself, as it furnished at least Ontario, Canadian schools with equipment that is now becoming obsolete. It is important to document the history of such photographic equipment and its producers.martin (talk) 08:34, 16 October 2008 (UTC)
- I'd like to add that I intend to back up these claims and I do think I can soon find references to do so.martin (talk) 08:35, 16 October 2008 (UTC)
- I've now backed up most of the above claims. I hope that this is starting to make the notability of the subject less questionable. martin (talk) 17:38, 31 October 2008 (UTC)
