Thats odd - British sovereignty over Australia was terminated by the Australia Acts of 1986 when it became a 'Sovereign ,Independent and Federal Nation ' yet it is not listed ? Lejon (talk) 13:42, 20 August 2008 (UTC)
And again Australia does not " retain the British Monarch as its Head of State " -- Elizabeth occupies the office of Queen of Australia with the permission of the Australian Parliament . The position of Australian Monarch is a completely separate legal and Constitutional position from the British Monarchs position . Lejon (talk) 01:00, 14 April 2009 (UTC)
The Statute of Westminster 1931 did not terminate the legal Sovereignty of the British parliament over Australia - there are many references to that . Note that ALL australian citizens could have a law passed in the Westminster Parliament enforced on them AFTER the Statute and even the ' adoption ' Act 1. via the continueing power of the British parliament over the individual Australian States and 2. As long as ' manner and form provisions ' were first complied with ie the legislation was passed with the request and consent of the Australian Federal government . The Statute of Westminster increased the 'autonomy of the British Dominions but did not grant full legal Sovereignty . Lejon (talk) 02:05, 19 June 2009 (UTC)
