Chanelle → ? – Chanelle is entirely too ambiguous to sit as a redirect to Chanelle Hayes, effectively designating that article's subject as the primary topic for the ambiguous term. I am convinced that it should be re-purposed as a disambiguation page with Chanelle (disambiguation) redirecting to it.
The current configuration made it unacceptably difficult for me to find information, on Wikipedia, about Chanel West Coast and impossible if using Wikipedia's internal search feature. Finding that topic's Wikipedia coverage required, first, that I externalize my search through Google -- and then: that I also include "MTV" as an additional key word.
Consider the page's editing history as well, and the erroneous implications of admin support for the status quo it seems, IMO, to contain. I believe these implications have stifled the normal bold measures that would have, otherwise, brought about the needed changes (long ago).
There are literally so many subjects covered on Wikipedia with Chanelle as a component of the article's title (given name, surname, nickname, or other some-such) that indexes may be needed for each subset as well. Notwithstanding the aforementioned, none of the subject's covered are so ubiquitously known as a mononymous person that they ought, by any stretch of the imagination, be held as the term's primary topic!
Whereas, consider as well the ambiguous similarities Chanel engenders as a clearly needed "see also" item. What, if anything, am I failing to understand regarding the misapplication of this title? --John Cline (talk) 18:05, 7 February 2018 (UTC)
- Hold on - isn't this just a redirect for discussion? anyway, now we are here Support the basic idea : the redirect has a whole load of junk dna attached from cut and paste article making, but once moved out of the way (or zapped), then move Chanelle (disambiguation) over the base line. - Agree that this is malformed as a requested move; no one wants to move the redirect itself anywhere. I'm removing the template and suggesting that this be sent to another venue (probably Wikipedia:Redirects for discussion) if necessary. Another option would be to propose moving Chanelle Hayes to Chanelle and seeing what happens. Dekimasuよ! 19:10, 7 February 2018 (UTC)
- My bad, I apologize and will forward it as a redirect for discussion.--John Cline (talk) 14:48, 8 February 2018 (UTC)
- Hopefully the redirect for discussion logging here corrects this discussion's previous malformations while facilitating a survivable discussion that can reach a culmination. No comments were moved into the linked discussion so I invite interested editors to consider commenting there. Thank you.--John Cline (talk) 05:41, 9 February 2018 (UTC)
