This storyline was first done by John Larroquette in his 1991 movie "One Special Victory."
[edit]This basic storyline was first done by John Larroquette in his 1991 NBC-TV movie "One Special Victory".. In that movie, John plays the man who is sentenced by a judge to community service, to coach a basketball team of mentally and physically disabled people, they compete with other teams, and he is transformed in the process.[1] That movie was shown globally; and was inspired by the true story of the real-life coach, Ron Jones (teacher), in his 1990 book B-Ball: The Team That Never Lost a Game..
