Notability discussion
[edit]edit: I have updated this list to include the film's mention in a published book. At this point, I am confused how this film would fail notability as it has been addressed in national review outlets, numerous genre film outlets, as a highlight of at least one published book, film festivals, etc.
This article was draft-ified out of notability concerns. I am a little confused why but I'll attempt to briefly provide notability evidence here. (I do not currently have time to write all of this into the article, but it's my understanding that notability concerns can be satisfied in Talk pages and/or reviews with the understanding that such material will be incorporated later.)
- The film has been covered by at least two national media outlets: Nathan Rabin (a nationally known film critic) and Kenneth Lowe of Paste Magazine (whose reviews count toward Rotten Tomatoes averages, as seen here https://www.rottentomatoes.com/critics/kenneth-lowe/movies)
- The film, despite initially obscure releases, has been re-released by Vinegar Syndrome and has appeared in film festivals (such as The Music Box Theater in Chicago, which is a major historic theater in the US https://musicboxtheatre.com/films-and-events/the-av-club-presents-beyond-the-room-get-even)
- The film is mentioned in the book "Mine’s Bigger Than Yours: The 100 Wackiest Action Movies Book Review", as mentioned here: https://411mania.com/movies/mines-bigger-than-yours-the-100-wackiest-action-movies-book-review/ -- This book is a real, physical publication through a legitimate publisher and not an ebook, self-published, etc.
- Despite the film's amateur production, it features two professional actors: Wings Hauser and Pamela Jean Bryant (these would also be some pages that might link to this page, if being an orphan page is a concern)
- As noted before, this film has been extensively covered by genre film outlets, the same kinds of sources that provide references for pages such as Birdemic, Cyber Seduction: His Secret Life, etc
