Related, but not equivalent to azulene

[edit]

Chamazulene is an active compound found in the distilated extract of the plant Chamomilla recutita (or Matricaria recutita). Its structure is related to azulene, but is not the same. Therefore, I suggest the article "Chamazulene" should not redirect to "Azulene".

Structure of Chamazulene

I agree, so I have created a short article for chamazulene. -- Ed (Edgar181) 14:39, 7 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Issues?

[edit]

Ref#2 does not state that the pathway is a biosynthetic one, it just refers to transformaiton on matricin. The article on dewiki says that the compound is actually not present in plants (reference is made to RÖMPP online), but is a degradation product brought about by the extraction (e.g. steam distillation) process. This should be properly checked and corrected in the article. Szaszicska (talk) 18:10, 1 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
