The literal meaning of Chamar is: Chamar (noun) [Chamar/chaamar/chamara, ahura/asur, ahi-dasa, kamar/kamara, khamar/khammar, shammar/shamar, chamaran, shamran, chambhr/chambhar, chamar]
[Feminine forms = chimar, chamari, chamariya] A Iranian Azi-Dahaka (in indian pronunciation "Ahi-Dasas") tribe, Chumuri/Chamuri/Chimuri who migrated from Iran and is now found primarily in all countries of the world.
2. A person belonging to the aforementioned tribe is called a Chamar.

Chamars did not just start rewriting history out of sky , they started correcting what they were before, i would like to see a change in the line that mentions something along these lines. Rangreta20 (talk) 19:34, 31 January 2024 (UTC)

There is no empirical data that suggest that chamars are taking all benefits of reservation.Also chamars is the largest caste among schedule castes.In states like uttarpradesh chamars population is almost 50% of total schedule caste population while the population of valmiki caste is 3%.So it is not righful so that chamars are takng all reservation.
