If you want to delete this article please motivate your action on this discussion page. I intend to add more stuff to this article as soon as I can find biographical data etc..

It is very strange that somebody just deletes a started article without any motivation, especially when it is about an internationally recognized musical artist like Chamin Correa. (roger4911)Roger4911 13:41, 20 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, we cleared up that little misunderstanding so we can continue to build an article about this fantastic guitarist who is the great guitar hero of the Latin American world. (roger4911)

"The discography above is very incomplete, only currently available albums on CD are included so far. Chamin Correa has released albums and appeared on other artists albums for many decades."

I think this is more appropriate on the Talk page. Rawgreenbean 22:16, 2 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Recent additions

[edit]

I added some text, with references. I also added an external links section and a references section. Two of the external links are from his own web site, the third from an interview in spanish. My spanish is not so good so I used the google translation service to read the text in english to confirm I had understood the text correctly. Added info from Romaproducciones site, and removed the "references needed" tag, because I have now added a lot of references. (Roger Johansson) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.249.177.148 (talk) 20:06, 8 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

On Internet

[edit]

If you search for "Chamin Correa" on google you will find 22,600 results. In many of the links you can listen to his music, for example short samples from record selling companies (for example http://www.artistdirect.com/artist/albums/chamin-correa/417665 which has many very short samples but with excellent sound quality, or sites like http://www.fulltono.com/baladas-de-oro/chamin-correa/ which plays 11 of his songs, and youtube has 265 hits, most of them music videos of Chamin Correa himself, but I doubt that any of these sites are legal, valuable enough or wikipedia-correct to include in the article. However, 4-5 years ago I found long and very valuable free samples of his music at his recording company. I wish I could find that site again because I am sure it is fully legal to download those files which were in mp3 format, and maybe it could be considered wikipedia-correct to give the readers of the article the link to that site. The music videos he allows people to enjoy on his own site are of course legal, and I am pretty sure it is wikipedia-correct to refer the reader to them, so I did so.

Luckily his name "Chamin Correa" is very unique so practically all links with that name will be about him. The only exception I have found is a group of young musicians who call themselves "the Chamin Correa project" in spanish. His real name is/was Benjamin Correa, but he was nicknamed Chamin, short for Benjamin, early in his life, and he has used the name Chamin Correa during his whole career. The external link An interview with Chamin Correa is dead now, can the person who inserted it find a new address for it or shall we delete it? Roger491127 (talk) 21:39, 11 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

On Youtube

[edit]

If you search for

Chamin Correa -Project

on youtube.com you will find 301 music videos. The reason I have to add -Project is that a group of young musicians have uploaded videos named Chamin Correa Project, by adding -Project those are excluded. Roger491127 (talk) 21:47, 11 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Real Name

[edit]

We do not know if he was named Benjamin as a baby and was nicknamed Chamin later, or if he was named Chamin from the beginning. Roger491127 (talk) 02:32, 12 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Problem solved. I found that full name is Chamin (Benjamin) Correa Perez de León. Roger491127 (talk) 07:06, 12 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

List of albums by various artists

List of albums by various artists which Chamin Correa has contributed to as Director, Producer, Guitar player, Composer, Arranger and singer. Should it be included in external links maybe? Roger491127 (talk) 04:31, 12 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

This link to an interview with Chamin Correa has been dead for some time so I delete it. If somebody can find a valid link to that interview please re-insert it. Roger491127 (talk) 13:32, 22 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

New numbers on youtube

[edit]

If you search for "Chamin Correa" -Project you get 480 results. If you search for "Los Tres Caballeros" you get 765 results. Obviously there are around 1000 music videos with Chamin Correa on youtube, and the numbers are growing. A year ago I got lower numbers. That should tell anyone something important about the notability of this artist and the number of songs he has recorded between 1950 and 2011. Roger491127 (talk) 14:30, 11 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
