GA Review
[edit]I noticed this at GAN, so I thought I would take a look. Currently, it is definitely not at good article status, as most of the information in the article is unreferenced. When it's all referenced, it can be renominated. Wizardman Operation Big Bear 00:45, 6 March 2010 (UTC)
- Where does the references need to be placed? — Nascar1996 01:06, 6 March 2010 (UTC)
- The article is on my watchlist, I know that I helped with it in the article's infancy. It's far from Good Article status, like Wizardman correctly dismissed immediately. You add inline citations, like you can find at other NASCAR Good Articles like David Pearson (NASCAR driver) and Tim Richmond. There's a great button that you can add to the edit toolbar on the top to add citations. You find it in the "My Preferences" link in the upper right, then click the "Gadgets" toolbar, then add a check mark to "Reftools". Make sure to use names so you can reuse a reference. Please start a section on the bottom of my talk page User talk:Royalbroil and keep asking me questions until you understand. Be aware that making a Good Article is a difficult task. I spent evenings for many weeks (maybe months) to get Pearson's article up to GA status - and I've done several before. Royalbroil 01:14, 6 March 2010 (UTC)
- Please put citiations needed everywhere where a reference needs to be. Thank You. I cant because I don't have a clue where to put them. — Nascar1996 01:16, 6 March 2010 (UTC)
- Here are example sentences where they would be needed, which I think is what you're asking for: 'He stated after Johnson's victory, "Who says we're too young to win a championship? We're (expletive) going for it!"' and 'In early 2006, Knaus was accused of cheating after Jimmie Johnson's Daytona 500 qualifying run. Knaus made an illegal adjustment to the rear window, which resulted in his suspension from Sprint Cup events until March 22.' Wizardman Operation Big Bear 01:31, 6 March 2010 (UTC)
- The first sentence you said I don't believe there is a page out there for that, but the secongd one I will look for.Thank You. Nascar1996 01:36, 6 March 2010 (UTC)
- If you want this is be a good article, you need to do all of them - otherwise you need to remove the content. Please review Wikipedia:Good article criteria in great deal. There are several major chores on that list - the biggest thing is #2 - reading WP:VERIFY because every good article is expected to have very strong verification from solid sources. I keep telling you that Good Article is a serious and difficult thing to do! After you have everything verified from a reliable source, then you need to have #1 strong writing in terms of grammar, flow, sentence structure. The paragraphs need to be well formed, images licenses correct with appropriate captions (#5), etc. File:Wikichad1.jpg looks very questionable - did someone assert that it's a fair use image instead of taking it themself? The license on the other image looks very good. There needs to be much more detail added about each season - point #4 "Broad in Coverage". The article needs to discuss how Johnson did in terms of wins & other notable races, championships, etc. There's a lot to do before this is a good article. Royalbroil 05:40, 6 March 2010 (UTC)

Okay, thank you for helping and that is a lot of work. I don't believe I will get it to good article status, but I might be able to get it to a B class article. — Nascar1996 15:25, 6 March 2010 (UTC)
