"Centralia in Braxton County, West Virginia was so named because it is in the central part of a county which also happens to be in the central part of the state."

The picture shows it at the edge of the county.


  • The story of Centralia, PA including the underground coal fire, etc is that of the town described in the Silent Hill movie. I'd guess they probably just set the film in WV because it's more recognized for its coal mining industry. I don't see any real relation between the film's setting, and this town in WV, save for sharing a name with Centralia, PA, and being located in the state of WV. 68.233.12.105 00:57, 4 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
