weasle/peacock words

[edit]
Does "CIVIC is pressing the adoption of a new international norm dictating recognition and making amends to war victims" mean "Civic wants war victims compensated" or will a "new international norm dictating recognition" do instead? This article is very wordy and has lots of weasle/peacock words for quite simple good ideas I think. Victuallers (talk) ps. (to my UK understanding of English) Why ARE the "Innocent victims IN conflict"? I'd be more interested in looking after the innocent victims OF conflict. If the innocent victims are IN conflict then they may not be so innocent? Victuallers (talk) 15:57, 3 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

not the first ever US funded aid program

[edit]

RE: "Marla, with the help of Senator Patrick Leahy, created the first-ever US-funded aid program dedicated to helping rebuild the lives of civilians unintentionally harmed by US combat operations."

This is simply not true. The Leahy War Victims Fund was before, enacted in 1990. Moscowamerican (talk) 02:09, 26 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
