promotional section

[edit]

I just removed a highly promotional section for a civic organization. Please do not restore it. As for the NPOV challenge to the article otherwise, please discuss here on the talk p. DGG ( talk ) 22:22, 10 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

copied from now deleted Talk:Citizens For Center Grove

[edit]

I understand that the section of this page Citizens For Center Grove has been marked for deletion. According to an online editor's comment it's subject matter was "inappropriate". I disagree. The organization being described is a local community non-profit that organizes public forums and local resident collaboration. It is in the middle of it's public efforts to address the needs of 35,000+ residents. Please advise how this is "innappropriate"? Perhaps the word meant was "irrelevant". If this is the case, I again disagree. If you will note the parent page "Center Grove, Indiana" references the community as an "...unincorporated community located in White River Township, Johnson County, Indiana." The relevance of the non-profit group is to address that very issue. It is certainly relevent to consider how cities and towns develop from unincorporated communities to localities that provide public service such as police protection and road repair. I would think that deletions on Wikipedia would target more aggregious content than that of a community non-profit organization. Please advise and respond. --User:Bjsmith4

I wasn't the admin who deleted this article, but I had occasion to see to a related article, & I went to your talk p. to say I agreed with Nawlin Wiki's deletion -- as did the very experienced editor who nominated it for deletion in the first place. I shall revisit the parent article, Cedar Grove, and see if I can restore the information in some form. As it stood, it was a PR piece for the group. I just happened to see this by chance--the talk p. of the main article is the place to discuss this, and I will copy it there. Looking at the whole article, as I said I would, I have some further questions. DGG ( talk ) 16:02, 11 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
