Needs Improvement
[edit]This article isn't really correct. See this site--Cellular One seems to be a coalition of franchised wireless providers. Yes, Western Wireless owns the trade name, but they license it to many companies--so there IS a relationship between Dobson and Western Wireless. I'm also familiar with Cellular One of San Luis Obispo (California), and I've noticed that all of the Cellular Ones have the same red light/bold CELLULARONE logo.
I will research this more and add as I have time, but if anyone else can focus on this, I'd appreciate it.

I also recall that the Cellular One was just a group of independant cellphone companies, one of which included McCaw Cellular, who's network was sold to AT&T Wireless. Other independant pieces gave up the franchise name to create a new name (such as part of the Cingular network).
I was hired by Dobson a month ago, and right before leaving work today received an e-mail (all employees did) stating that AT&T is buying the company.
Not so Fast
[edit]Of course it is known that the merger is completing between AT&T and Dobson. Though it hasn't been set in stone what will happen to the Cellular One trade name yet. I'm just saying don't jump to conclusions, and let things happen first before changing information in the article. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jmoz2989 (talk • contribs) 02:55, 7 November 2007 (UTC)
Chinook Wireless
[edit]It seems as though one of Montana's wireless networks, Chinook, is changing branding to Cellular One. I wonder if they bought it?--Warpzero 18:09, 23 March 2008 (UTC)
- Don't believe it has been. Cellular One is an affiliate name. So it could be just a name change. But I could be wrong.Strunke (talk) 04:01, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
