[edit]

I think your article is great with a very appropriate Wikipedia "tone" and is filled with great and detailed content. A few suggestions: I think the introduction's last sentence is a little long (run-on sentence) and confusing, so maybe break it up into smaller, clearer sentences so your point still gets across. The first sentence of the "history and discovery" section is also a run-on and confusing. In the sentence that says "300 modifications" I think you are missing an "it". The "Mechanism" section is a little repetitive/redundant, so maybe shorten and tighten the sentences here for clarity and succinctness. The Microbiology Resistance section is really good and clear. In the "uses in medicine" section after the bullet points, the sentences aren't quite paragraphs, and appear a little disjointed. Is there any way to connect them in some way? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Anitapershad (talkcontribs) 04:09, 9 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I'm interested in adding information on the susceptibility tests, infection treatments, and side effects or important interactions for cefoxitin. Is anyone else working on it? CaldDalA (talk) 20:46, 19 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Looking to remove stub designation after recent additions and perhaps later addition of side effects. Thoughts? Also, would anyone mind taking a glance at the references and sharing if they think there should be significantly more? CaldDalA (talk) 17:15, 28 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

MinusBot removed stub designation on article, updated talk page banner to reflect that. CaldDalA (talk) 13:19, 5 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Reviewers Notes: This article checks all the boxes of what I think should be in a good wikipedia article on this subject. Its tone is correct, and it is broken up into logical sections with good content and great citations. The only very minor change I could recommend is to hyperlink the mild in "Side effects for cefoxitin are regarded as mild." to the page where the medical definition for a "Mild side effect" is described. Ideas for improvement

[edit]

I recommend adding the following sections:

  • notable drug interactions (e.g. cefoxitin+probenecid)
  • contraindications
  • PK/PD data
  • history of its development/discovery

Biochemistry&Love (talk) 00:42, 9 May 2017 (UTC) Edit: other recommendations.[reply]

  • separate out the MoA from the "Microbiology" section
  • explain in laymen terms the relevance of "inducing" beta-lactamase. For example, "Cefoxitin induces the production of beta-lactamase from gram-negative bacilli, which acts as a defensive mechanism against the drug's effect."
