U.S. "Recognition"
[edit]It's hardly remarkable that the U.S. "recognizes" Canada's "claim" to this and several other islands in the vicinity, the international border is several hundred meters east of their location, they are all clearly within Canadian territory.Deconstructhis (talk) 16:09, 17 July 2008 (UTC)
"Cedar" Island?
[edit]I've been looking at a number of map sources and I believe this island is being misidentified and that its actual name is "Gull island". According to my sources there was an actual "Cedar" island, but it no longer exists, it was located upstream a few hundred meters from the brink of the falls and was covered over and joined to the mainland during the development of hydro power and the Dufferin Islands nature area in the early 20th century.Deconstructhis (talk) 18:06, 17 July 2008 (UTC)
I must agree.
[edit]I even came across something on the 'Net saying that Gull Island is long gone, too.
There is an island where this writer says there is one – I've seen it many times. It's even involved in the climactic scene in the film Niagara. Furthermore, I remember coming across its name somewhere, but it now slips my mind. Kelisi (talk) 17:44, 23 September 2008 (UTC)
