POV, Attribution

[edit]

large part of this article is anti-ceausescu propaganda... it claims things that can't be objectively proven .. like "An alcoholic who beat his wife and children"," his drunken father declared his name as Nicolae at town hall, despite having another son by that name.", "eventually becoming section chief at that factory due to her family connections" or "Due to her famous brother, she rapidly advanced in her career, "

It might help to have specific citation and possibly even direct quotation on the most controversial passages; certainly the abovementioned all deserve specific attribution. If there are respectable sources that present matters differently, they too should be cited for their views of the matter.
For what it is worth, the (U.S.) Library of Congress Country Study on Romania (based on July 1989 data) refers to Ceauşescu's regime as "dynastic socialism". - Jmabel | Talk 20:16, 10 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I don't care about the objections an avowed Fascist would raise about a "Mussolini family" article; likewise, I don't care about the objections an avowed Communist raises to "Ceauşescu family". All the allegations are sourced to Jurnalul Naţional, a reliable publication. Per WP:V, that is all we are required to do. Please stop being disruptive. Biruitorul 15:16, 12 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Removal of sourced information

[edit]

Anonimu: You kept putting tags saying that the info in this article was not sourced. Then you complained there was just a single source (the JN article). I added a whole bunch of refences, and added depth to the article (you know, there are editors who actually do add content to articles instead of just slapping pov tags and reverting ad-nauseam). Now you remove my added references with a non-sequitur -- as if multiple sources mentioning drunkeness is not relevant to someone being identified as an alcoholic (which I take was your complaint to start with). One more time: could you please stop this disruptive pattern of unfounded reverts and removal of references? Thank you. Turgidson 18:52, 12 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The other two references for the first allegation should be removed. You can't say he was an alcoholic just because he was allegedly drunk when he has declared his son (a lot of peasants drink when their boy is born) and because he was once seen drunk in a train station. There's a wiki policy against such generalizations.Anonimu
Anonimu: Please stop putting disruptive tags. You do not contribute in any way to the development of WP by engaging in such unjustified tagging, and repeated reverts. Try adding (sourced) content, like other editors do. Just a thought. Turgidson 13:41, 22 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

First off, when you revert, please do not revert my addition of quotation marks to the article title. Second, "se ştie azi despre beţiile lui Andruţă" quite clearly indicates this was not a one-time thing. I should just say "alcoholic", but I suppose that's a medical diagnosis. "Drunkard" unquestionably applies. Please stop this nonsense, or I will take the matter further. Biruitorul 17:22, 22 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
