Biased
This is seriously biased, and reads like some PR person has written it Golden Dragoon (talk) 09:12, 1 March 2009 (UTC)
Hideously Biased, have put notice up and hope to have it resolved soon Profjack (talk) 23:05, 25 May 2009 (UTC)
This article has been written by Brand & Communications Manager (This has been confirmed)[citation needed] of CeX. It features Information about CeXfest which is only relevant to staff & only known to staff. This article is to biased & written like an advertisement. The article appears to be aimed at individuals seeking to invest in franchises as the company is expanding via franchises throughout the UK. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Locrutos (talk • contribs) 10:57, 3 July 2009 (UTC)
- Ok, over the next few days I'll be looking at this page and try to bring it into line. It's not really a priority, so might take some time. Still, it can't be that annoying, as it's been over a month since the tag was added, and nobody else has lifted a finger.
- "This has been confirmed" - by who? Where? When? Could've been written by a fanboy. a_man_alone (talk) 16:27, 5 July 2009 (UTC)
This has been confirmed by Staff working for CeX. For Legal reasons the Names of the particular Staff members cannot be revealed. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Thetaboy (talk • contribs) 13:52, 2 August 2009 (UTC)
- Then you void the argument and my previous statement still stands - citation needed: confirmed by who, where, and when? Being unable to verify the names (and as a byproduct their positions within the company,) of the people who "confirmed" this, makes the statement so pointless that as it stands is nothing more than hearsay and rumour.
- I still maintain that it could have been written by an over-enthusiastic fanboy who wants nothing more than to glorify CeX, and is just not making a very good job of it. -- a_man_alone (talk) 15:36, 2 August 2009 (UTC)
Unbiased?
Or at least less so, I'd hope. Nobody has complained any further about the changes I've made, so I move twice - that the unbiased flag is removed, and the delete request is removed. CeX is a notable company - one of the few remaining second user specialist shops, with a reasonable company model.
Somewhat ironically one of the things that makes them notable is that they don't advertise, rather rely on word of mouth. This rather backfires for Wiki, as it means there's a lowered presence, compared to Gamestation for example. a_man_alone (talk) 16:20, 11 August 2009 (UTC)
- Another week on, and nobody has taken issue with the new page, so I'm removing the neutrality flag. If anybody takes issue with that - by all means reinstate it, and list the reasoning. a_man_alone (talk) 15:49, 18 August 2009 (UTC)
CexFest
I've removed this section, as although interesting, it's supposition and written in an informal style:
In 2008 and 2009 it was held in Pikehall in Derbyshire and 'piggybacked' onto the Y not festival. Due to the growing nature of the company it is expected that next years festival will be over three days so that more staff can attend as cover cannot always be arranged instore for staff wanting to go
Perhaps rewritten it would be OK. —Preceding unsigned comment added by A man alone (talk • contribs) 18:54, 28 August 2009 (UTC)
CeX/Facebook customer service
So, is it possible to get customer-service/contact without joining Facebook ? , if so, this really should be emphasized in the article79.75.117.14 (talk) 01:32, 3 February 2010 (UTC)
- I think it's already fairly clear in the very first sentence: "As of August 2008, all CeX customer services were moved from a phone based system to a completely email-only service, using a secondary domain name of webuy.com." - that seems self explanatory to me. a_man_alone (talk) 09:25, 3 February 2010 (UTC)
- I understand, but i was highlighting the need to subscribe to Facebook(accepting terms and conditions, etc) 79.75.126.66 (talk) 17:05, 3 February 2010 (UTC)
- But you don't subscribe to Facebook for customer services - the very first sentence tells you that CS issues are now email only, which excludes Facebook.
- Facebook and Customer services are completely different. Facebook is a replacement for the forums - which were not for customer service at all, despite attempts to use it as such. Facebook is, as the section suggests, "for the CeX community" - whatever that may be.

- If you want to TALK, you could try calling the store in Watford 01923 228828
- For all the good it will do. All they'll say is "Please use the email service" and hang up on you - which to be fair is not unexpected - as they make no secret of the fact that Customer Service is email only. Besides, why should I (or anybody else around the country) phone a store in Watford when my issues may be related to Middlesbrough, Leeds, or Hull - etc? Just because Head Office is located in Watford it seems a tad unfair to lump all CS issues on the store that happens to be there as well. a_man_alone (talk) 06:54, 4 February 2010 (UTC)
Pronunciation of "Cex"
With regard to the two recent edits by an IP, and Davey2010 over the correct pronunciation of Cex - it really is "Sex":

CeX security breach
With the records of 2 million users stolen, this event certainly seems notable enough to be added to this article.[1][2] --Lewis Hulbert (talk) 15:26, 30 August 2017 (UTC)
US stores closing?
Until it is reliably reported in media (or they actually close) then it shouldn't be added. A look at the webuy website still lists the US stores as existing:
- Webuy American page[3]
And if you really do want to add such information - when sourced - please use correct spelling and grammar, and slightly less tabloid in tone, thanks... Chaheel Riens (talk) 11:17, 1 January 2018 (UTC)
